Naqab- Review :)

Hey guys,

I am sitting absolute vella rite now as i have no work and so thought of blogging. But..but..i am absolutely blank as i have nothing to share . But like a brat kid I am adamant to manipulate this medium for whatever reason possible. So, here I am again reviewing the recently watched NAQAB , directed by Abbas mastan and starring Akshay khanna, Bobby deol, and the gorgeous newcomer ( oops, I dnt remember her name).

I had opportunity of watching it on Saturday ie. on 14th july. Well, it’s a nice one-time watch though it has nothing extraordinary to offer. So, dont keep very high expectations. alright??

The highlights of movie are:

Actress: in simple words, she is hot and sexy. Guys can afford to spend bucks to watch her. She did a fabulous job. She acted better than what I expected out of her and not to forget her dancing skill. She actually dances well.

Songs: Simply Awesome .. Title song is lovely and “Ek din teri rahon me” is too good.

Suspense: The director was able to grab my attention most of the time. It was thrilling till last minute. Howver, the only murder throughout the movie was performed at last minute.

Acting: Everybody performed well in this movie. However, the 2nd half of the movie could have been better.

I would give three stars to this movie

Rating: ***

Please watch this movie and leave ur reviews.

4th july, 2007… I guess I will remember this day for long. Guess wat? On that fine day, I spent 130 bucks to watch SHIVAJI. And to tell something abt the movie… Ummm.. Aaa … sometime words are hard to find to express the perfect line.

The movie started at 7.15 and then the distressing journey continued for next 3 hrs. I am definitely not one of the sadist who seeks pleasure from sadness but the intolerable torture made me feel as I went there to punish myself for my sin.. There were so much hype surrounding this movie as it has beaten all records, it’s the most expensive movie et al. But to be honest with readers, I find the movie absolutely outta my taste. In fact, I find the supporting actor( I don’t know his name) more striking than Rajnikant. I don’t know what the scriptwriter had in mind while writing the script. In this era when Indian movies are getting acknowledged for their subject, treatment and variety, watching movies like Shivaji was definitely a let down for me. I know this discussion is subjective in nature but somehow I cant swallow this fact that still a large mob of Indian population go fanatic for 80s style masala movies

I am disappointed with Shivaji character itself. Actually I am awfully confused to understand whether he was a Superman, He-man, Tarzan or God himself. How can he jump like guerilla, handles all evils of society alone and was capable of repairing the junked bureaucratic system single-handedly. There was one more movie on the similar theme. Nayak starring Anil Kumar ( this movie was a remake of a south-indian movie). But we cant draw any comparison between both of these. Nayak can definitely be described as an intelligent movie while Shivaji ( no prize for guessing).

One more thing, which was extremely difficult to digest, was the comeback of The boss in another identity. I found this scene hilariously funny and ridiculous. I never knew that just changing the colour of lens and getting bald can give you an in total a poles apart identity.

PS: This movie has all the ingredients that I don’t like in any movie. Loads of obligatory songs with luxurious sets, Loads of drama, unrealistic situation… I was not talented to appreciate comedy as language was a constraint.
