Review of hey babyy!!

Hey, I forget to mention in my previous posting that I watched Hey Baby too the very next week!! Few of my friend had come from Hyderabad and thus we planned for this movie as we had no other option left.
The less I say the better it is. Gosh! After really long time I get to see such a terrible, badly scripted movie with loads of overacting from all actors. I don’t know what Sajid khan had in mind while reading the script and directing the movie.

I think you all should/must read rediff review before going to watch this movie (incase you are in a mood to experience the trauma) This time Raja bhai is true in his review. Total pakau movie. We could not find solace in the songs either. Equally unsoulful songs with distasteful lyrics..…

Movie-maniac

I had started writing this blog on 18th August, but thanks to my laziness and some unavoidable reason I could not finish it on time. And here am I to complete the story. I had a great week watching many of my favourite movies.

On 15th August, I watched CHAK DE INDIA. As I expected it came out as a remarkable movie with extraordinary performance. The pack of girls, their emergence from different states with diverse culture, lingo, way of life and mannerism was an added charm. I think more than Shahrukh it was bunch of these gifted girls who made this movie a hit. Among all the gals, my favorite was the appealing “ komal Chautala”. I loved her attitude man, full of confidence and mischief. In the final match of India Vs Australia, when she passed ball to preeti Sabarwal, a shriek had come out even from my mouth. I guess somehow I can relate to the emotion as I have myself played loads of game for my school and region during my school days.

On 17th August, I watched GODFATHER 1& 2…I know I am not going to say anything new. It’s a masterpiece. I have read the first part of Godfather which actually helped me in understanding the story better. A very well directed movie. Next week, I have set a target of reading Godfather-2. lets see whether I can finish that or not.

Hey, wait..wait.. its not the end.. On Sunday ie 18th August, I get to see IJAAZAT, late night show on TV. I tell you, since long I wanted to see this Gulzar-directed movie. While surfing channel on TV, i saw, “coming up next: ijaazat”, I was so happy and excited. Anyways, great movie yaar. It’s a must for emotional fools like me. Watch this movie atleast once.I I wont be able to do justice to Mr. Gulzar or to the actors per se by narrating the story over here. So, my request is to go and watch it. Indian film industry is full of directors and producers, but Gulzar saab is one of his kind. The gracefulness with which he treats the subject cant be discovered in any other movie.
Amazing songs, extraordinary performance and strong script.. I loved it and I can watch it again.

2nd Aug, 2007:

I have taken one of the most defining and memorable decision of my life. My saying that i like someone would be an understatement. Actually, I idolize someone and would like to spend my entire life being with him. I just cant imagine myself being with someone else now. However, I am quite sure (sadly though) that it’s not going to be a cakewalk.

I belong to a small place called Patna( bihar). My parents are extremely conservative, just like local bihari crowd and they cant imagine their daughter getting married to someone out of their caste. Today, after much ado I decided to disclose my secret with my elder brother. While speaking to him I literally started crying. Later on, he had a word with mom-dad and good round of scolding from her side. Later on mom called me and the arguments, tears, abuse continued…

I don’t want to hurt anyone but I guess, I can’t have best of both the world. In this process someone is definitely gonna hurt. I have taken a stand and I want to remain stick to it. There are only a handful of people in my life I can bank upon at the time of crisis. He is my pillar of strength, my backbone and my best friend. I cant lose him just like that. He is the one with whom I can share anything. I can be his kid, his darling, his mother, his sweetheart all at the same time and he is one of the most understanding soul I have ever met.

I LOVE HIM & I GUESS HE WORTH THIS FIGHT.….

GUYS! WISH ME LUCK…..

Travelling in Deccan Queen- Mumbai to Pune

When I look back at whatever months i have spend working with my current company, the month of july is definitely not something I can feel elated about. Whatever be the reason but I dint perform as per my expectations. In office, most of the time, I was doing nothing. A feeling started sinking in that im a useless or rather an inefficient employee.

So, I thought of recharging my battery by spending weekend with bhai-bhabhi at Mumbai and start afresh on Monday. I wake up early morning on saturday as I wanted to board Deccan Queen 7.15 am. Finally, I got the ticket after standing in a long queue. But the problem started when it came to searching the ladies general boogie. To my astonishment, there is no separate compartment as such in Deccan queen for regular travelers like Mumbai locals or mumbai-pune intercity express. It came as a shock to me.

There was one boogie for pass holders where 80% of the seats were reserved for pass holders. If anyone wants reservation in ladies local compartment, they have only 20 seats at their disposal and this reservation has to be done 1 day in advance. If some1 wants immediate tickets, no denying that they will get tickets but there is no assurance as such that they will get place to relax their bum. They have to manage among whatever seats left unreserved among 20 seats (which are not occupied by the pass holders). So, you can understand Indian Railways don’t take pain of informing the new travelers of the reservation status.

The attitude of Pass holder females in itself a very interesting story. Most of the passholders seats were vacant but they dint let anyone sit there.. Most of them were sleeping and on an average each female was occupying 2.5 seats (I actually counted it). We were absolutely at their mercy. Finally, after standing for almost one hour a chubby lady sympathized with us and gave me some place.

I had a small conversation with one female who was observing my plight throughout. What she advised can be beneficial for all of us. She suggested me never to take permission from pass holders. While traveling if any of those passholders asked you just tell them that you are yourself a pass holder and later on in case TT comes, paying him a fine of Rs.15 can avail us that seat and that’s it. Most of these ladies are already sitting on their seat and thus they have no rights to stop anyone else.

Thus, while traveling I learned one good lesson that honesty is not always the best policy.

Naqab- Review :)

Hey guys,

I am sitting absolute vella rite now as i have no work and so thought of blogging. But..but..i am absolutely blank as i have nothing to share . But like a brat kid I am adamant to manipulate this medium for whatever reason possible. So, here I am again reviewing the recently watched NAQAB , directed by Abbas mastan and starring Akshay khanna, Bobby deol, and the gorgeous newcomer ( oops, I dnt remember her name).

I had opportunity of watching it on Saturday ie. on 14th july. Well, it’s a nice one-time watch though it has nothing extraordinary to offer. So, dont keep very high expectations. alright??

The highlights of movie are:

Actress: in simple words, she is hot and sexy. Guys can afford to spend bucks to watch her. She did a fabulous job. She acted better than what I expected out of her and not to forget her dancing skill. She actually dances well.

Songs: Simply Awesome .. Title song is lovely and “Ek din teri rahon me” is too good.

Suspense: The director was able to grab my attention most of the time. It was thrilling till last minute. Howver, the only murder throughout the movie was performed at last minute.

Acting: Everybody performed well in this movie. However, the 2nd half of the movie could have been better.

I would give three stars to this movie

Rating: ***

Please watch this movie and leave ur reviews.

4th july, 2007… I guess I will remember this day for long. Guess wat? On that fine day, I spent 130 bucks to watch SHIVAJI. And to tell something abt the movie… Ummm.. Aaa … sometime words are hard to find to express the perfect line.

The movie started at 7.15 and then the distressing journey continued for next 3 hrs. I am definitely not one of the sadist who seeks pleasure from sadness but the intolerable torture made me feel as I went there to punish myself for my sin.. There were so much hype surrounding this movie as it has beaten all records, it’s the most expensive movie et al. But to be honest with readers, I find the movie absolutely outta my taste. In fact, I find the supporting actor( I don’t know his name) more striking than Rajnikant. I don’t know what the scriptwriter had in mind while writing the script. In this era when Indian movies are getting acknowledged for their subject, treatment and variety, watching movies like Shivaji was definitely a let down for me. I know this discussion is subjective in nature but somehow I cant swallow this fact that still a large mob of Indian population go fanatic for 80s style masala movies

I am disappointed with Shivaji character itself. Actually I am awfully confused to understand whether he was a Superman, He-man, Tarzan or God himself. How can he jump like guerilla, handles all evils of society alone and was capable of repairing the junked bureaucratic system single-handedly. There was one more movie on the similar theme. Nayak starring Anil Kumar ( this movie was a remake of a south-indian movie). But we cant draw any comparison between both of these. Nayak can definitely be described as an intelligent movie while Shivaji ( no prize for guessing).

One more thing, which was extremely difficult to digest, was the comeback of The boss in another identity. I found this scene hilariously funny and ridiculous. I never knew that just changing the colour of lens and getting bald can give you an in total a poles apart identity.

PS: This movie has all the ingredients that I don’t like in any movie. Loads of obligatory songs with luxurious sets, Loads of drama, unrealistic situation… I was not talented to appreciate comedy as language was a constraint.

My Experiments With Truth

MRP: Rs.30 . I could not believe what I was reading. I actually double- checked and rushed to the billing counter to confirm it. The pricing actually made me feel sorry for the great mahatma but not for long. The empathetic I soon overpowered by the greedy me and I rushed to avail it ASAP. So,my experiment with this book began in this fashion.

I enjoyed every bit of this read and I strongly feel that all of us, whether Indian or foreigner, should read this masterpiece at least once. I earlier had the opportunity of reading quite a few autobiographies. As per what I can recollect, there was hardly anyone who accepted their mistakes as it needs courage to accept your fault. Mr. Gandhi did it so conveniently for his readers. He allowed the reader not only to see his strength but also the loopholes. I was actually disheartened with the way he handled his children. May be he had certain philosophy and principle but nothing can beat the essence of academic education in any society. He was himself a well-learned person and such unconcerned conduct is least expected from such a man of such repute. He took a great deal of pain for the common masses and the down-trodden but at the cost of his family and children. I beg apologies in advance, incase I hurt anyone’s sentiment, but I feel that in his personal life he was as big a failure as was he a success in his public life. It was this public image which earned him the title of MAHATMA.

On certain occasion he was too stubborn which actually annoyed me. For instance, incase of matters related to health and his series of vow for fasting were actually too much to handle. His weakness and submission for carnal pleasures was both amusing and shocking. Beside that, on different occasion in this book Mr. Gandhi had mentioned about his shyness while speaking before a larger audience. The very idea of public speaking made him dizzy. On the other hand, the way he managed the fight against racial discrimination and his varied interest for reading books was very inspiring. These hilarious and at times gutsy instances make you realize that, if we forget the title of mahatma for a while, he was human too.

I will not get into the minute details of the book. For that, i request you guys to sacrifice one day smoke or snacks and fetch this book for 30 bucks from any bookstore.
